Welcome to the Maurstien nature trail
Would you like to learn about the natural environment in Ånderdalen? In connection with the approach to Ånderdalen National Park at Tranøybotn, a nature trail has been developed that we have named Maurstien (The Ant Trail). The nature trail is suitable for families and young children, and the entire trip along the trail from the car park is approximately 4.5 km. There are plenty of benches and places to take a break along the way. Remember to follow the principle of ‘leave no traces behind’.
To reach the start of the nature trail, you need to walk to the end of the universally designed gravel path (approximately 2 km from the car park). You will then arrive at the start of Maurstien, which is an approximately 1.3 km long nature trail in Ånderdalen National Park. 1,3 km lang natursti ved Ånderdalen nasjonalpark. Along the trail, there are information signs where you can learn about the animals and plants in the national park. Have an open mind, be curious and keep your eyes peeled. Maybe you will spot an owl or a hare – or something else you did not expect to see.
Approximately halfway along the trail, you will arrive at Viewpoint Ånderdalen, where you can enjoy the view and take a break. There is an outdoor toilet at the viewpoint.

When you reach the end of the trail next to the bridge near the Álddovuopmi Visitor Point, you will find a Quiz Box with questions where you can test your knowledge about what you have seen and learned along the trail. Find the answers to the questions by following the instructions provided there, or by responding via the link below.
Each autumn, we will draw five lucky winners who will receive a gift from Ånderdalen National Park, so remember to write your name and address on the form. You do not need to have the correct answers to be one of the lucky winners. Simply showing interest, completing the trail and making an honest attempt is enough.
